In my opinion, the best Asian restaurant in Munich, honest cuisine, great wine list and a pleasant atmosphere, hopefully this whole situation will soon be over and we will toast together. We are definitely looking forward to being able to fully enjoy your meal again soon
Always recommended. Better with pre-order. And spicy actually only means spicy when indicated. So you can eat well without taking your breath away.
We have been here countless times and have been extremely satisfied every time! Recommend the sweet and sour duck and the starter plate!
In my opinion the best and therefore most expensive Asian restaurant in town. Anyone who wants to save money or, as the Swabian says: Save, save houses, is definitely wrong here. The starters are in the high single digits and the main courses tend to go up to 30 euros. On a lavish evening, you can quickly find yourself in three digits here. It was similar on my last visit here, where a friend and I shared a fish and seafood soup together and everyone had a main course. Additionally with drinks we were at just under 100 euros. But that shouldn't be in the foreground when you get involved in this exquisite and great restaurant. Located on Kazmaierstraße in the Westend, it captivates when you come in with its colorful interior and beautifully even tables. There are also one or the other statue, as well as pictures of the Thai king on the wall. It feels a bit like a library where you like to spend longer time. The somewhat older waiter is very nice and this is probably a family business, as the supposedly younger son also helped with the service. As a starter you get three long, large crab chips that taste much better than in cheap Asian shops and could be homemade. Then you have a really large choice of different specialties from southern Thailand, with relatively few vegetarian dishes, but game and many fish dishes. So in the end I also ordered the fish soup mentioned above, the liquid of which was wonderfully seasoned and flavored and, in combination with the various cold-blooded animals, simply tasted amazing. The main course "very spicy deer" was really very spicy and was ordered despite a clear warning from the waiter and his advice to take something else and you shouldn't be disappointed. The dish was a real firework for European palates and my friend disappeared after trying twice for several minutes in the toilet, but for people who like to eat spicy it was just pleasant and tasted very good in combination with the tender venison Good. Nevertheless, it should hardly have been hotter and counting the chilli peppers would have taken several hands. With the main courses, rice was served in a pot that remained warm and the portions were large and sufficient. It wasn't enough for a dessert, but given the size of the dishes, this was no longer necessary and you rarely eat so good and varied in Asian restaurants. You can overlook the fact that it is a bit more expensive and quality has its price.
Simply good.
Great food, very good service.
Very good food and courteous service.
Has past its prime. Food okay but colorless, tastes not of Thailand but of Germany. Extensive wine list, with wines up to € 2000, unfortunately without advice "seems to me to be dry". Ambiente S-Bahn 80s.
Very tasty food and great service. We are always very satisfied with Rüen Thai.
The food wasn't that fresh, and actually very expensive than other restaurants! otherwise paid too much for old food and eaten too little for the price!
The food was nice but overpriced in my opinion. Service wasn’t great as they had to come back and check our order. Service was also a little bit cheeky asking my friend’s child if they wanted another drink rather than the parent. Lastly didn’t appreciate the soft pressure of asking if I wanted to add a tip during payment. Overall okay experience, but I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t go back unless they addressed the above.
The food as absolutely amazing. The lunch menu is not too expensive and definitely with the price. No complaints about the service either. I highly recommend this restaurant and if you like spicy food, you must try the green curry as its the best green curry I have had an munich so far. They accept card payments as well. I will be returning to try other dishes soon.
I have known the Rüen Thai restaurant for over 20 years. For me the best Thai restaurant in Munich. The operators are very nice and attentive. I always enjoy going there. The only drawback is the establishment of the restaurant is getting a bit old. Food & wine top !!!
cozy atmosphere, the wines are excellent, the food is a dream
Oh well. Food was good but not more.
Lovely food in a traditional family atmosphere. Getting a bit dated but the owners make up for it
The Thai cuisine definitely tastes different than in this restaurant, but the prices are pretty high, too bad
For me the best Thai food far and wide!
Very good. Nice atmosphere and better service!!
We love the Rüen Thai and keep coming back. Great food. A wine list that leaves nothing to be desired. Also with wines from us from southern Styria. Top Bordeaux and Germany. This restaurant is an absolute "must" for everyone who loves Thai food .... super dear hosts!
One of the best Thai restaurants I've been to outside Thailand, hands down. The Bavarian meats and wine list add a wonderful local kick.
The king of the Thai changes (and so does the portrait in the restaurant) Rüen Thai remains ... still fabulously good Thai food with exquisite wines ... you do not have to write anything. Everyone knows in Munich. Top place.
Very tasty, very friendly. Fine wines, but at an elevated price.
The restaurant looks great from outside and inside as well, but service and food is not good. For lunch time it took around 1 hour to get the food and they do not have many vegetarian options. Very sloppy with service and they forgot our orders. Very expensive as well.
Really delicious - well seasoned and beautifully presented - and generous portions. Priced a little more expensive but it is just not a snack but a real Thai restaurant. Outside you can also sit nicely in appropriate weather.
Great food! If you're in Munich its worth visiting
They was so kind and cool.. Treat me as house guest
Thai Restaurant with fine wines and real thai taste , friendly owners and staffs
Bester thai in town
Very good green curry!
Unfriendly
Really good food. A bit expensive.
Good food, nice people who run it.
Love, love this restaurant! The owners are also awesome and so caring/ hospitable.
Best thai Restaurant in München have been eating there for twenty years Never had a complaint if you love food go there
Wow, what a gem! Excellent interior and service, great selection of wine, very quiet and cosy. Food was very good, on time without any unnecessary delay. Just a small detail - all the flatware was silver covered high quality and glassware was Riedel. Amazing!
Delicious traditional Thai food available here. Serene atmosphere with friendly staff. Wide selection of dishes and wine. I had the chicken with cashuenut-the best flavoured thai meal I've had sofar!
Tasty food.
Simply great. The green curry was fantastic. Bought me back to my time in Thailand. Def. recommend the place!
Really classical Thai restaurant with traditional meal. Not bad but not so great!
Great Thai restaurant. Grat and tasty food.
the seafood curries are so good.
Nice staff, fine cuisine, food very tasty, but very small portions, value for money not for everyone, but recommended for special moments.
Rude staff!! I went there around 9PM, clearly there were some two seat tables empty. I asked to be seated, the old owner gives a cold shoulder w/o saying anything. Then few minutes later comes the German guy, I ask the same "table for one please", guy goes "Nein". I asked if I could come back later. Same answer "Nein". Wow!? This is the height of greed. I have dined at this place before with larger group. Never again!! To hell with this place!!
Perfect Thai food
Delicious from the start till the end a place I would most definitely recommend
Possibly the best Thai food in town. Pricey by my standards, but totally worth it, and fast & friendly service.
Pros: Good food, good service, quiet neighbourhood Cons: Rather pricey, difficult to find a place to park the car
